“ We recently ate here for a special occasion and had a wonderful time. We ate at the chef's counter, which is a four course meal - I believe at all other tables you order a la carte. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and more than generous portion size (I couldn't quite finish everything, although I wanted to), and the staff was incredibly friendly. I love being able to watch food get made and chat about it throughout the meal, so really excited to find a vegan friendly restaurant with a chef's counter in Pittsburgh. Also really enjoyed the non-alcoholic cocktail selection - all three we had were outstanding. Highly recommend. ”
“ The food’s really good but falls short of amazing. EYV’s cooking is fun and creative, whether through an interesting flavor combination (chocolate, ginger, peanut) or a reinterpretation of a dish (the farmer’s salad). Their website indicates as much. They’re proud of being innovative. And for that reason alone, EYV is worth checking out. Personally, I think what would’ve pushed the food from really good to amazing is more depth of flavor. The best flavors of the ingredients weren’t brought out in full intensity. I wished the beets tasted more like beets, or the turnips more like turnips. Slicing the turnips 3x thicker should resolve it, but I’m not sure what to do about the others. As for drinks, the mai tai is absolutely delicious. Order that. The Golden Goose needs a touch of syrup, lime juice, and a few drops of saline. Service was excellent. Waitstaff were really friendly and helpful despite what must’ve been some annoying requests. ”
“ A new favorite! The food was delicious, they're super gluten-free and vegan friendly, and they use local farm ingredients. It's rare with all my food restrictions to have so many options. There's also a fusion style to their menu that's delightful, with sophisticated compositions and plating. Staff were super conscientious and friendly. It's one of the best meals I've had in a while, but I had never heard of it! Discovered while walking down East Ohio Street. This meal just made my week. Such a great place. ”
“ This place is an absolute gem in the city of Pittsburgh. I’m surprised they don’t get more coverage. Everything we ordered was incredible! They really create decadent dishes. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about their pea mousse appetizer since ordering it. The rutabaga lasagna was lovely and so flavorful. The top crispy layer was incredible. ”
“ You must try EYV!!! It is absolutely one my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. My husband and I are quite picky eaters, but EYV never disappoints. Their food is creative, innovative, and has a “wow factor” that strikes from the very first bite to finish. Every dish has multiple layers of flavor and texture...you can tell there’s a lot of love and effort put into the dish. Their desserts and cocktails are incredible too. I took my Japanese parents, and they absolutely loved it. It is a vegetable-forwarded restaurant, but we always leave here full and satisfied (we are not vegetarian nor vegan). We love Rod, the server, he is always friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place!! ”

The food itself was absolutely phenomenal, and most certainly filling! The best way I can describe most of the dishes (especially the desserts) is like experiencing an orchestra of flavors and textures that come together to form a divine symphony. They focus on seasonal and local ingredients, with vegetables being the star of the show. You would be hard-pressed to disappoint any vegan, vegetarian, or omnivore here.
